Ahora les presento la traducción de un artículo que Wrathchild posteó con el nombre de “Cameras and what they may capture” en la sección “Ghosthunting” del foro de Ghostly Encounters (Encuentros Fantasmales). Este es un sitio excelente para chatear sobre fantasmas, Ovnis y otros hechos paranormales. Pronto les hablaré de este sitio con más detalle.

Cámaras de video:

Según mi experiencia esto solo sirve cuando se filma en la oscuridad, lo que significa que tu cámara de video debe tener un buen sistema de visión nocturna (infrarrojo).

Cuando filmes en un lugar encantado trata de hablar con cualquier espíritu o presencia y trata de pedirles que te muestren una luz o que hagan ruido (¡¡ esto puede sonar tonto pero muchas veces funciona!!); sean pacientes porque los espíritus pueden necesitar tiempo para juntar sus energías, por lo que traten de estar por lo menos 30 minutos en cada área encantada. Cuidado con los movimientos o globos luminosos del flash (o a veces columnas de humo), a veces estas pueden ser insectos o polvo, cuidado con cualquier comportamiento inusual de estos ‘orbs’.

Cuando se llevan cámaras es siempre importante llevar baterías de repuesto porque los fantasmas son conocidos por drenar la energía de las baterías en segundos (esto incluye también las lámparas y cualquier otro equipo que puedas tener).

Cámaras digitales:

Esta funciona también mejor en la oscuridad y con el uso del flash (aunque también se pueden tomar fotos de día y sin flash, pero es raro).

Solo apunta y toma fotos en un área encantada, y siempre es mejor tomar muchas fotos para tener mejor chances de conseguir evidencia.

Aquí tienen algunos de los fenómenos que pueden capturar usando cámara digital:

Orbs:

Este es el fenómeno mas común que vas a encontrar en tus fotografías y varios van a argumentar que solo es polvo, insectos o partículas de humedad, y, aunque muchas veces pueda ser este el caso realmente creo que existen los verdaderos espíritus ‘orb’…

Por ejemplo aparecen preferentemente en lugares encantados (y créanme, en un lugar muy embrujado
son abundantes!!), y aparecen al llamarlos o donde la energía espiritual es ’sentida’. Algunas veces, aunque en situaciones extremadamente raras, pueden ser vistos a simple vista.

Los ‘Orbs’ pueden ser pequeños o grandes, casi imperceptibles o muy brillantes, a veces con un matiz de color, pueden tener una mancha de color en el centro (como un núcleo) o color en los bordes como una corona, hasta pueden tener ‘cola’ como un cometa, eso nos dice que se están moviendo.

Nieblas de ectoplasma:

Las nieblas de ectoplasma se parecen a una nube de humo, generalmente blanca (aunque se grabaron nieblas oscuras).

Estas son muy difíciles de fotografiar, la gente muchas veces piensa que podrían haber fotografiado una, pero se pueden explicar por condensación, vapor, humo de cigarrillo o solamente el aliento de una persona en el ambiente frio… es solamente cuando descartas todas estas posibilidades cuando se puede considerar algo paranormal.

Vórtices:

Estos son también muy raros de fotografiar. Se parecen a tubos delgados de luz moviéndose a través del aire y son usualmente muy brillantes (se parecen mucho al efecto que se consigue al mover una bengala en el aire).
La correa de la cámara en frente de la lente puede producir un efecto similar por lo que tienes que tener cuidado con esto.

Video camera:

In my experiences this only usually works while filming in the dark which means your video camera must have a good night-shot (infa-red) setting.

When filming in a haunted location try talking to any spirits which may be present and maybe ask them to show you a light, or to make a noise. (this may sound daft but it often works!!) be patient as spirits may need time to build their energies, so try to spend about 30 minutes in each haunted area. Look out for moving or flashing globes of lights (or sometimes wisps) some of these may be dust or insects so look out for any unusual behavior from these ‘orbs’

When taking cameras it is always important to take spare batteries as ghosts are well known for draining battery power in seconds (this includes your torch and any other equipment you may have)

Digital still camera:

This again best works in the dark and with use of a flash (although it can happen in daylight and without a flash it is rare)

Just point and shoot photos in a haunted area, its always best to take alot of photos for better chance of evidence.

Here are some recorded phenomena you can get using digital photography:

Orbs:

This is the most common type of phenomena you will find in your photographs and many will argue that its nothing but dust, insects and moisture particles, and although quite often this can be the case i do believe that true spirit ‘orbs’ do exist..

For instance they mainly only appear in haunted locations (and trust me in a truly haunted location they are plentiful!!) they will appear on command or where spirit energy is ’sensed’. Sometimes, although extremely rare, they can be seen with the naked eye.

‘Orbs’ can be small or large, faint or very bright, sometimes tinged with colour, they may have a spot of colour in the center (like a nucleus) or colour around the edges like a corona.. they may even have ‘tails’ like a comet.. this tells us they are moving.

Ectoplasmic mists:

An ectoplasmic mist looks like a wisp of smoke, usually white (although dark mists have been recorded)

This is quite rare to photograph. people may often think they have photographed it but usually it can be explained by condensation, steam, cigarette smoke or just a persons breath in the cold air.. its only when you can rule all these things out can it be considered paranormal.

Vortexes.

These are also very rare to photograph. They look like thin tubes of light weaving their way through the air and are usually very bright (they look very much like the effect you get when waving a sparkler in the air)

A camera strap in front of the lens can produce a similar effect so you need to be careful of this.
